HENRY SCHOFIELD DIARY

18th v fine

A fine young fish caught weighing about 9lbs. Had a head wind tacking about and a long way out of our course, not having crossed the line yet. Saw 5 ships 1 homeward bound, going about 3 knots. For dinner potatoes & pork pie & bouilli for tea. I had some bacon fried. Not feeling very well all day and a many the same way. Brown end of captaincy.
