Sunday 10th – Strong wind from the north going
11 Knots. Raining more or less all day. rather
disagreeable on deck. No service today on account of
the weather. The christening of Burnell’s child was
also posponed for the same reason. The Scotch
had service in the t’ween decks in the afternoon
There is a swell on the sea & motion on the vessel
but we all take to it kindly now. We all comfortable
and dry in the t’ween decks, and sleep soundly
at night. We have always something nice for dinner
and soft bread to tea every other day. But I
often wish that the long holiday was over but
the wind of God wills will soon drive us
to our desired haven.
